Unit 2: Accessible Web Design
By the end of this unit participants will be able to:
- design and build content pages within the (Course Managment System) CMS that meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.0;
- determine when material can and should be presented in a content page;
- assess whether an existing content page in the course meets Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 guidelines;
- assess whether a web page from an external site meets Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
Unit Overview
This week, our focus will be on creating accessible HTML, and you'll create a Content Page in your Canvas Sandbox. Though you may be wondering how you suddenly became a computer programmer, don't worry! We're going to be using the Rich Content Editor that you've been using to add content to your course within your course management system.
To meet the objectives of this unit you will complete the following activities and assessments:
- Review the material in Unit 2, including the tutorials on creating accessible HTML Content Pages
- Participate in the "Focus on HTML" discussion
- Complete the "Design an Accessible HTML Content Page" assignment
